There's something really satisfying about having an idea in your head and then seeing that idea translate well into reality (especially since that almost never happens!). We couldn't decide which art we wanted to hang in our bedroom for ages. One day my hubby had the great idea to develop some of our favorite Virginia/N.Carolina shots in black and white and put them in frames. Then I had a picture of one of my favorite views blown up into a 16x20 and done in a wrapped canvas for Aaron's birthday last week. The contrast of the black frames with our Silver Sage paint looks fantastic (the above pics do not do it justice) and it's fun to have all these reminders up of a place I love so much.

That looks fabulous. I can't wait to come and see it! Just out of curiosity, how much does it cost to do photos like that?
Thanks! I'm glad you like it. The size of canvas I did was about $98, plus tax. Not really cheap, but about what you would pay for a nice picture anyway and worth it since it is so special. Have one in you want to have done?
I dunno if there is a particular one I want to do- but since my photos are getting better and better with the use a digital camera, I'm thinking of going on a picture taking bender with CC and see what we can come up with!
Oh, I hear you - I think anyone can take amazing pictures if they keep trying and all the extra practice we get with the digital cameras sure helps. Do you remember that picture I took of the wheat field by your house? It turned out awesome. That is probably the next one I will blow up.
Those are beautiful! What a great idea! I have some photos I would love to blow up and frame from some of our (mine and Keith's) road trips. Well worth the cost to have something unique and personal.
Hmmm... Keith's birthday is coming up... that might make a nice surprise....!
Amanda - hi! Oh, I bet Keith would love a picture like that. And I am sure you have some fabulous shots of the Oregon Coast and the woods. Send me a picture of it if you decide to go that route.
