I adore, adore, adore freshly grated/shaved parmesan tossed with melted salted butter. A fantastic topping for anything from popcorn to veggies, to be sure. I however prefer it by the spoonful. After spoonful, after spoonful. Mmmmm.
On an unrelated note, all my jeans seem to have shrunk at the same time. Weird. I wonder why.

Parmesan's a low moisture cheese, right? So it's low fat?
True, true - I do think the butter may make up for that, though. But don't think I haven't tried rationalizing it!
Rock on! I absolutely ADORE parmesan. I put it on everything, just ask my mom. I always have some in my house and I'll snack on it plain by the handful. Butter makes everything better though, so naturally they go perfectly together, especially on popcorn. I think I learned that from you didn't I? It's awful but I'll melt an entire stick of butter and add enough parmesan to make it goopy, and just spoon the whole pan over a big bowl of popcorn. AND I usually don't have to share. :) How's that for a confession?
